“Electrical connectors should be memorable in performance and forgettable in use”

Deutsch since its creation has provided major innovations for the connector world, especially for hash environmental conditions the predominant domain of our connectors.

The first hash environmental connectors appeared during the Second World War onboard aircrafts. At this time inner contacts where soldered and the insulators were subject to humidity, dust, temperature, durability, etc… Connector shells were in aluminum or steel and were highly corrosive when exposed to salt spray or sea water.

Today Deutsch has the know-how to design connectors resistant to:
Environmental conditions:
Temperature:
From cryogenic conditions -270°C ( -454° F)
Up to + 1100°C (r +2012° F)
A majority  of standard Deutsch connectors resist from -55°C to +125°C ( -67°F to +257°F) for Industrial range  and -55°C to 175°C ( -67°F to 347°F)  for MilAeroSpace range of connectors.
Engine connectors have to resist fire test conditions: 15mn at 1100°C ( 2012°F)  under vibrations
Salt spray during a minimum of 500 hours for aluminum connectors

Pressure:
All our connectors for external use are sealed when mated
High pressure up to 30,000psi

Vacuum:
leak as low as 10ˉ12  atm/cm3/sec
In accordance with fire and smoke specifications

Mechanical conditions:
All our connectors are guaranteed for 100 mating- unmating cycles and 500 mating- unmating cycles for the MilAeroSpace range of connectors
Connectors with removable contacts are re-installable  a minimum of 20 times
Vibrations up to 100G at 200°C  ( 392°F)

Electrical conditions:
From micro Amps up to 25,000A
From mill volts up to 200,000V
Hyper frequency transmissions from DC to 65 GHz

Data transmissions:
Bus 1553B at 1MBits/s under 77 Ohms or 10MBits/s (3910) under 50 Ohms
Bus Ethernet 10 & 100 Base T at 10 & 100MBits/s under 100,& 150 Ohms
